No steel. Hmmm.

’70 (3-30) instruction is the same as '69.

’71 (3-32) instruction say’s…

New rubber coated steel gasket (is this the culprit?)

I called dr diff today...he said metal gasket goes btwn housing and backing plate. and the one that comes with the green bearing kit (I thought it was paper, but he said it was hi-density foam) goes btwn backing plate and retainer...

hoping she wont leak when I take her for spin tmorrow
