I would tear it down and check it out before buying bearings. JMO.. Just because it turns over nice don't mean the crank is not going to need to be turned. I have torn apart MANY good running engines that needed to be bored and have the cranks turned. If Im putting it back together tolerances are going to be true and it is not going to have scores in the surfaces. Also I have seen factory engines that were .010/.010 under on the crank stamped w the motese cross, and being .020 over on the bore.
