Hood scoop hardware

They take a special tread on the fiber glass side. It is coarse a larger. The nut side is 1/4 20. The nuts are also special due to the scoop bosses sticking trough the hood. They have a larger cone style washer on them to pull the scoop against. The reason the holes in the hood are much larger is for the boss the protrude through.

I would imagine you could glue any stud in . But would it be as strong and hold them on at speed? I never took the chance and used the correct hardware.

Someone must sell a kit for this. Buy the correct studs and nuts why take the chance. I have a container of them if you need pics of what they look like.

They are also used on several other places such as fender extensions and other fiberglass parts on other mopars. I gather them at salvage yards when I walk through if they are easy to get at. Collected a container full over the years. The correct scoop nuts are the hardest to find.
