magnum camshaft and spring lift

Springs and valves are only part of the equation. The reason for the lift limit is generally spring retainer to valve guide interference

I look at duration as determining the rpm range the engine will make peak power in and lift more or less determines the power it makes. There's more to it than that but those are the basics. With that in mind I'd wonder how the 360 could breath good with a shorter duration cam such as the 5.2's cam? If your really wanting more power and going through all the work to swap the cam why not have one reground to give you more duration and lift? Generally doesn't cost that much if you already have the cam core. The only thing you might run into is if they reduce the base circle it'll cause you to have to run slightly longer pushrods and you'd definitely need better springs than stock to take advantage of the stouter cam. The ones Bomber mentioned work good
