msd coil wires too short...

Have they been cut? I don't run MSD, but I've seen others and got the impression they are plenty long. Where do you intend to mount the MSD?

It "might" be possible that the coil wires could be "too" long, but I doubt that a foot will cause this

Bear in mind that the two wires to the coil are carrying a VERY high energy pulse(s) much higher power than factory stuff. What this means is, that at some point those two coil wires are going to radiate electromagnetic energy......just like a radio transmitter in some ways, and just like high current welding leads in some ways.

This can interact with other, lower power circuits...such as the voltage regulator and other electronics, and can most CERTAINLY radiate radio noise. It can ALSO radiate enough power to false trigger the magnetic distributor, IE "trigger itself"

Keep them reasonably short, and "dress" them against the body metal to act as shielding.
