Oil tem/pressure install

I'd bet ya 20 bucks it would snap off right where the red line is, and at the worst possible place in the middle of nowhere.
(too much weight and leverage to trust it)

I think Kit's suggestion is the best way to go.

I know it would be a pain in the butt, but you could weld a bung in the oil pan if you need an oil temp that bad.
Never really saw a need for it on a street car though, since coolant temp will tell you what you need to know.
