So I finally decided on swapping the 225/904/7.25 combo for a 360/727/8.75 set up. I completely rebuilt the engine. Had it machined (honed and line bored), mild cam (lunati bracket master), rebuilt heads, performer RPM intake, 750cfm vacuum secondary carb, headers, and more I'm prob forgetting. The 727 was completely rebuilt also with an installed shift kit. I have a shaumaker mount kit for the conversion. I don't have a 8 3/4 yet though.
