Under the dash board is a bracket for the parking brake lever. On my car it was bolted to the instrument panel. But,I forgot if it was painted gold or left natural!
On my black dash GT, it was black. On the gold dash Valiant I parted out (still have the dash), it was dash color and on my blue dash wagon, it's blue. I'd say it's supposed to be dash color and probably painted at the same time as the dash.
