leaf spring right rear preload?

Back in the day we did alot with setting up the car. Most was with the driver "in'' the car. Even when aligning the front end along with setting the height of the T bars. Un-conventional from a daily driver set up.Did it make a difference ? Maybe only the mental factor but it keeps the mind thinking about picking up that last 1000th of a second.
