08 truck 5.7 in an a body

Um, Dave? Is that you? Certainly YOU know there were NO '08 5.7 Challengers. Only 6.1 SRTs.

OP, the LX cars had MDS right from the start. Trucks did not. Trucks got it in '06, except 3/4 ton and up. They did make the 3/4 ton 5.7 with manual trans. An '05 1500 Ram 5.7 would be one of the easiest, as it has good clearance between the frame rails on your car; accessories are up high. Just doesn't look quite as attractive under the hood, but there's been some very nice conversions with the truck engine.

08 Challenger 5.7L did not have MDS or VVT so there is a good choice if you can find a wrecked one. Not sure if they made a RAM 5.7L Manual if they did it would not have MDS either. Other then that you can shut of MDS with either changing the 4 sets of lifters or just disconnect it and shut it off in the tune.
