Is anyone running TTI's new 2"-2 1/8" step headers with a 400 4 speed. Looking to see if anyone had any fitment issues. We won't be running torsion bars so that's not a concern. Just don't want to cut up this car. Any pictures would be great.

Just bought the same ones this week! I would love to see pics as well. Are you running TTI's modified Z bar?

I just installed them on my 512/440 with Indy SR heads. You have to install the from the bottom. My buddy and I had to modify the Steering column mount at the Firewall. We offset it about 1 inch. They are real close to the passenger side inner fender. For the front end I'm using the Hemi Denny front end. I hope this helps.

Doesn't the HD K member set the engine low in the car?

That would put the passenger tubes clser to the inner WW

Unless your running 700 hp or over thats a pretty big primary tube to be running.

Yes, the problem with TTI's is that in an A-Body with Performer heads you only have 2 choices 1 3/4" or 2 1/8". Currently they don't have 1 7/8" or 2" available for that set-up.

Which is why I wanted to run the 383 stroker with raised port heads which will allow the 2" headers. however I ran into the snag of only one intake being available and it's quality very much in question.

The problem is that no one offers a big header for a BB A body, unless you want one custom made, except Bob Mazzolini (2 - 2 1/8" step) or now TTI's 2 - 2 1/8" step. We have two cars that are over 700hp and the 2 1/8" Mazzolini headers are going on one car but the other car we don't want to cut up. That's why I was wondering how the new TTI's fit.

For what it is worth I have spoken to a couple different folks about getting custom headers for a RB A-body....both said when the tubes get bigger they normally run a couple of them thru the fender....

Post up how those 2 to 2/18 headers from Mazzolini work out for you. I am about to pull the trigger on a set to put in an A body with a RB/Indy raised port head 540.

I will post pics as soon as we get them. It will be a little while because once we get them we are sending them out to get coated. I talked to Bob a few times about them and they sound pretty promising. We are also going to be dynoing a 500" B motor and will try to dyno test the 2 1/8" Pro parts vs the 2 1/8" TTI's against the full 2 1/8" dyno headers. Also have a set of 2" Hooker Fenderwells. Should be interesting...

I am about to pull the trigger on a set of the Mazzolini step headers for my 540. The dyno place should be up and running soon so maybe I will do a back to back comparison between the Hustler 2" and the proparts step headers.

You planning to run a 3 1/2 inch exhaust system? I can't find the parts needed to build one with an X pipe in the catalogs. To me 3" sounds a bit small - my 416 has a 3".

I will be running 3 1/2". I got all my stuff from summit. 3 1/2" X pipe and Borla mufflers. I will be interested to see your Dyno results.

What kind of modifications did you have to do to run the Mazzolini 2 1/8" headers besides the obvious inner fender holes? Is it because you're running the raised port heads? I would also like to see some more pics of your Mazzolini headers if possible. I just ordered mine today.

watching this closely! do u guys really think an x pipe will be beneficial on a motor that big? will it even be worth it`s own weight? got the parts for a 3.5 system for my barracuda, but am having trouble with all the weight it will have.
comments? would sure like to see dyno tests of the x pipe together w/ ur header tests!----thanks, bob:coffee2:

I will be running a 3.5" x pipe exhaust with mine this year. I like them because they make the exhaust so simple to unbolt and run open headers if you'd like at the track. I always uncork it when I go to the track.

The main issue with the tubes was on the passenger side that needed reworked with mandrel tubing, driver side got just a couple small dings with a socket to make a nice curve.
BOTH collectors had to be pie cut up and lifted up to get exhaust tight to the body... I eventually had them ceramic coated.

Where on the passenger side? Darn, I was hoping these would be drop in for my RB 440-1 combo.
