2 1/8" TTI Headers

Air woofer , in the engine shot pic the #2 tube was just ovaled a little bit to clear inner fender and 4/6 tubes were reworked with the mandrel tubing to clear t bars.... Weren't even close to fitting... But a bunch of mandrel bends from summit and send back what you don't need.

I can't see those pics Sledgehammer. The TTI / Proparts are here and compared to the workmanship on the4 Hedmans the TTis look like - well like poop. And now I have to rework them to make them fit. Lovely.

Tell me again where you got that 3 1/2" X pipe stuff as I can't find it at Summit or Jegs in the catalogs.

I had the 2" pro parts in my dart. Always ran Hot on the street. Went back to a fenderwell ( Hedman this time ) car went back to running 180 tops in traffic. I also had to modify 1 pipe to run my Indy Sr heads. really wish I would have done a before and after drag strip test too. it sure seemed to Pick up with the fenderwells vs the pro parts.

I may be in more trouble cause I got the 2 1/8 step version. Maybe I should change over to coil overs and lose the T bars.

I just ordered the 2 1/8" pro parts this week. They claim theres no fitment issuers but that's what they all say. I'm not running a raised port head though.

I have since changed to coil overs and I'm sure the would fit in "unmodfied" form but they still would be pointing down to much at the collectors.

I honestly think the set of Pro parts I had the one tube would have ben an issue raised port or not, since the tube hit the top of the center link. otherwise fitment was good tight but good.

Backing up a little way, but did the x pipe on the 3/5" , dumped system make it any quieter? got 3/4" offset spring hangers w/ 275-60-15 under the fish, no room to go over the rear and out the back. you can buy the 3.5" stuff from speedway(roundy-round stuff) cheaper than summit or jegs, just have to watch the shipping on it now tho. i bought mine before shipping went up-----------bob oh yea, u guys got some nice lookin rides!:blob:

Sledge - WOW that is a nice car! - I just put 2" TTI's in my car, cant imagine the 2 1/8. Question, what exhaust did you you use, mufflers? and

Sledge, did you use the Pypes stainless 3 1/2" X pipe universal? I was planning on using coated steel, not stainless.

May have to fab my own X pipe as what I am seeing in 3 1/2" isn't impressing.

Or go with 3" which is a distant plan B.

Air woofer yes 3-1/2" pypes stainless. Famous bob here is a vid of one of my passes. I went 9.72 in this vid and it is not my quickest either.
4.10s with 30" 315/60/15 radial on 100% local 93 fuel.

The main issue with the tubes was on the passenger side that needed reworked with mandrel tubing, driver side got just a couple small dings with a socket to make a nice curve.
BOTH collectors had to be pie cut up and lifted up to get exhaust tight to the body... I eventually had them ceramic coated.

could not see photo it is not available

This thread is 6 years old which is why the photos don't show up anymore. I'm sure there are more recent threads on this board that cover the stepped headers. I tried a pair on my Duster and while they did fit, they were almost impossible to install or remove and there was no room left in the engine bay for anything else. I sold the headers to a guy with a B body car and downsized to the 1.75 inch headers. The smaller headers fit okay but there is still very little room around them.

Is anyone running TTI's new 2"-2 1/8" step headers with a 400 4 speed. Looking to see if anyone had any fitment issues. We won't be running torsion bars so that's not a concern. Just don't want to cut up this car. Any pictures would be great.
I just finished installing them on my 73 dart with a low deck. Excellent fit and finish. Yes they are expensive but they are worth it.

Yes, the problem with TTI's is that in an A-Body with Performer heads you only have 2 choices 1 3/4" or 2 1/8". Currently they don't have 1 7/8" or 2" available for that set-up.

Interesting statement , I haver a set of 2'' on mine , raised port heads /68 fastback , they clear everywhere !
