the 30 weight non detergent motor oil helps the trans fluid lubricate the bushings/needle bearings and other bearing/bushings in the transmission. Trans fluid does a good job, but our transmissions are subjected to "just a little more abuse" than their brothers in street vehicles. I read about this some 25 years ago in a article called "torque flite talks" I have also mentioned this to a few very quality trans builders...they smile and say very little about it...guess I'm on the right track. I have never had shift quality issues using 30 weight non detergent oil. As for the wing, Competition Engineering kit. Just made it work with a bit of TLC! Thank you for the words of kindness Oh, by the way...this is my High School car. yes I have owned this car since 1969! The vinal top is still the OEM....again, all I use is Kiwi black shoe polish on the top from time to time...I know I'm crazy!
