I swapped in a 440 into my 70 swinger original /6 car. I used the infamous schumacher swap mounts. I have the "c" style oil pan on it and I am having a very hard timw getting it to clear my center link. Also if anyone has pictures of both mounts installed and is willing to post up, that would be greatly appreciated. Also, I recall reading somewhere that these motors weren't exactly "straight" inside the engine bay. Please refresh my memory. Thanks FABO.

Engines are straight, but are offset to the passenger side. Where is the center link hitting?

Right on the long portion of the pan. Straight across. Like the motor is sitting too low. Tension on my torsion bars shouldn't effect that correct? I still have the /6 t-bars but they aren't very tight.

First, does the motor need to come up, there should be some shims? Next, not sure which C pan you used, I used the 187. On the right corner my link hit a bit, seemed like it was a common problem, so I divited it a bit, seemed to be the common fiz. Works fine.

This link will give you the position of the engine in relation to k frame and frame rails. The adapter kit should use bolts that are smaller in diameter than the actual holes in the block where the mounts attach to give some movement in the mounts before tightening to achieve these measurements.

So unbolt the k-frame and shim it with 3/4" nuts or shims. I'll try this today. Also, the schumacher mounts have one that is "normal size" and the drivers side is a bit smaller? Making sure I have that right.

Does anyone have some pictures of how high these motors need to sit in an A-body? Also pictures of an appropriate location in relevance to the oil pan and center link?

Sledge how much did you grind down? Pictures? I shimmed the mounts and now im only hitting on the 135° angles when I turn sharp.
