no phone number really sucks, but i will buy that car if i can get ahold of someone that is for sure.

I emailed him Saturday with my info but no reply as of yet.

so is it a scam? I am really looking for a GTS Dart

I sent E Mail as well with no reply. Probably gone if not a scam. That looks to be an awesome deal. I would buy it no questions asked.

It's not a 68 Formula S but I like it. I have also asked for info and a #,
hopefully if sold to a member he lets us know asap and if it's a scam
also lets us know asap.

I emailed him as well with my info. Man is that a good deal!!! If it's not a scam, he's probably getting bombarded with emails.

I sent them an email saying what are you crazy $5,000 and it doesn't even run. I told them I would give them a $1,000 if they could wait till Friday when I get paid. They said great lot of people interested but you are the first to make a offer.:D Guess will see what happens Friday.

There's always a comedian in the bunch:cheers:

Anybody hear about their offers or had any contact beyond craigslist..
It's like the carrot in front of the donkey. I put an offer in to see if I
could get any more info or actually Buy it.

I've emailed him 3 times with my number and he raised the price from $5,000 to $7,500 OBO and no call. He has apparently received a lot of interest. The email he sent back indicated he does not have the title, yet. He has the original block and heads but they need "machined." The car has been taken partially apart and put partially back together with "most of the parts." I'll just wait to see if he calls.

The car has some red flags as far as what is NOT in the ad. No picture of the fender tag or anything else to confirm it is, in fact, a real GTS. The stripe is wrong, meaning the car has been "restored" at least once. If I couldn't see it in person I wouldn't give anything for it...

I e-mailed the posting and only got this canned response others have also received. It does address the stripe question, also provides location history that a plate verification would corroborate My gut tells me this is legit, but they have just been overwhelmed by the response, especially from our little group since there are multiple strings on this board, I am sure creating numerous FABO member stampedes. Will be very envious of who gets it, so will just continue to watch.:happy1:.

"Thank you for you interest in the Dart. We are trying to contact as many as possible but we have been overwhelmed with responses.
A little history..
The car was purchased in late ’69 in San Jose by our Sister-in-Law just before her and my brother were married. Before she took delivery she asked that the stripe on the back be replaced because it had bubbled. She brought it back twice for the same problem. After the last time the dealer finally removed the decal all together and had the stripe painted on.
The car was driven until ’77 or ’78 when there was a problem with the engine and was parked in their garage for the next 30 years. At this point they don’t even remember what the problem was.
About two years ago we trailered the car to our house, then to the JC for a project at the college. It was partially disassembled and the engine pulled. Unfortunatly the engine was totally seized and in very bad shape. The pistons were not usable at all. We still have the original block and heads, but will need to be re machined.
The car was mostly reassembled and moved back to us and has been in our garage since. The engine is still completely apart and the vinyl top has been removed as it was badly deteriorated.
The car is completely original and has not been modified in any way.
The 360 engine was being rebuilt to be mounted in the car and is still at the JC.
Our Brother and his Wife have since retired and moved to the Oregon coast and do not have a place to store it. They still have the pink slip in their possession and we have asked them to send it to us."

Well, I thought it might be time to update all of my forabodiesonly friends on what happened to the R6 red GTS on Craigslist in California. It took several months, lots of persistence and many emails back and forth (when the owner finally took a chance and responded to me), but I finally worked out a price (more than the original $5K asking price for sure!) with the owner on this beautiful 1 owner, rust free GTS. Thank you so much MILEHIGHDART for the original post, for without it, I would never have known this car was in California! I had it shipped to me in MN last July and have been steadily working on the restoration. I will get some updated pictures posted soon for all to enjoy. Should be finishing it up some time this summer. And....it is the real deal: numbers matching engine, trans, original fender tag & build sheet, and the best options: R6 red, white top, white interior, console 4 speed, tach, wood wheel and a 100% original and rust free black plate California car. This car is SWEET!

Very Nice !!! I also tried to get ahold of that car but the people would never respond. Congrats on your score. Glad to see someone got it.

Well she's finally back on the road. What a great car! Other than the switch to the dog dishes, it's pretty much all stock including the black stripe!

Great you were able to save the original decal. That's usually the first to go away. Obviously the original owner took very good care of this car.

It can't be "original". In a previous photo you can see the somewhat different painted-on stripe. Obviously has to be a new repop decal. Which is fine!

I love this car. Very, very sweet!

Correct. Stripe is not "original." This car originally came with a black stripe (per build sheet and fender tag), but the original stripe bubbled from the factory in the first year per the original owner. The stripe was replaced under warranty and the 2nd stripe also bubbled/peeled. When the owner brought it back to Dodge, they ended up painting a black stripe on it.
