You can buy just the gear and remove your steel gear and swap it out using the same shaft. Problem with that is the holes in the gear vs the shaft never line up and you will have an issue re pinning it. That is my experience trying to do it. I ended up buying the MP performance unit. It's highway robbery but we have no choice since it's not Chevys we work on.......
