Just installed over center spring, pedal acting funny

If it worked fine before without the over center spring then I'd just ditch the spring. The only thing the spring does is make the clutch pedal a little easier to push, it has no other effect on clutch operation.
It's possible that you have a heavy duty over center spring with a standard duty pressure plate.
