Alright here's what I got, 72 duster 225 turbo charged with .833 4 speed.

I got a dead cylinder so I decided to finally put the 198 rods for modern pistons. I need rods, pistons, cam and a ball bearing turbo complete setup.

So what I'd appreciate from y'all bein the stupid 22 yr old who decided to get a duster with a six banger turbo it and beat all the novas (I know I used the n word I'm sorry); is a list of everything I need a detailed list of pretty much everything and where you guys think I can get the best price. Also making sure the rods match the pistons i.e floating or non floating pins n such.

I didn't think the neon stuff was the same as the older 2.2 pistons that go with that combo? Are they?

Yes I see where your coming from, been there in my young gun days and built a couple of slant sixes....... Found in the long run for power it was cheaper to either start with a v-8 or do a v-8 swap. It's ultimately up to you but I'd use the opportunity to do a V-8 swap. And if you really want some fun turbo that baby up. However there is something good to be said about being different.....

Lol! To beat the novas........ Not sure how many you've run across but I bet they were the standard 250 six or the 350 v-8 ones..... In addition to my Mopars I have a 69 Nova SS with a 500 cubic inch big block stroker (455 block). It's pro-touring setup. I doubt you'd be able to keep up....... It's not all chevy though. The entire drivetrain is modified Pontiac GTO stuff. Couldn't bring myself to do a chevy 396 small block. At shows it confuses the chevy Guys as it looks like it's supposed to be there but all the accessories are on the opposite side including the fuel pump. The ones who do figure it out sometimes get angry and I just laugh.

Yea but see my car still beats yours... Maybe not in a foot race sure but do you drive yours every day?? No. Do you get 25 to the gallon on the freeway? No. Anyone can shove a big bloč in a car and say its fast, I did something special. Thousands have a car just like yours, there's only one of mine. I will not put a v8 in my car because believ it or not, I've eaten up corvette zr1s and mustang super cobras lol then drove it to Arizona on the same tune up... Sorry dude but you lose

This is what your looking for. 2.2L piston and K1 rods. I looked for over a year for a good set of 198 rods, never did find any. The pistons come in dish KB268 or flat top KB239.

Neon pistons wont work as they dont have the right compression height or pin size.

That's what I thought. Thanks, Mike.

No most use chevy 350 or whatever.... I have seen no one use a pontiac GTO engine and drive shaft. If there are there is not that many. Yes I drive it daily. I don't keep track of milage but I'd say near 20 mpg. Who cares of milage as this is not what I worry about. The tranny is a modified 6 speed with a gear venders overdrive in addition. So no I don't lose. My car is a win win for me lol! Just as yours is a win win for you. Anyone can turbo a slant six....... I've done two of them....... Anyone can do anything they want with proper dedication and enough funds. This is not a video game so no, you don't win. Neither do I.
This is a forum not a drag race. Relax.......It's all about what you like personally. I like all old cars regardless of make or engine. I do it for the challenge and above all else for fun..... Evidentially you read too much into it. Just don't rag on other makes and models outside of Mopar. There are many here that own other vehicles from different manufactures. Besides we are all here for the same goal. I tell members on other manufacture forums the same thing.

Anyway I've said my piece and I'm not here to argue over petty stuff. Just suggested to think about possibilities before rebuilding as doing the v-8 is more common and is an alternative, not the right one for everyone.....Take a chill pill and enjoy your day. If you need any kind of info on your slant six build Look up SlantSixDan. He is a wealth of knowledge on anything slant six wise.

"500 inch pro touring" was enough to get my attention and continue my respect. I was a little surprised at your answer Charged 225.
Having said that- I do like the thoughts of a pressurized /6 and would love to see pictures. I've been following the threads on here and amazed at some of the performance the owners are getting.

I'm not callin anybody a liar, but I would have to see a slant take a ZR1 vette with my own good eye.

Rustyratrod, u got any pics ofunder the hood showing your turbo setup? Wanna see the eye candy. ;-)

I like to see /6 monsters.

Thanks H20loo, I was suprised as well...... I'm not here to knock on the slant six. I've built several slants over the years. I respect all the hard work that goes into them to get that kind of power. That said I do prefer large displacement V-8 power. Especially when it's from a different manufacture than the body. It's all about being different.

That said I would love to see a turbo slant take out a ZR1 Vette. Would make some awsome footage for YouTube.

Check out /6valiant on YouTube. I'm not knocking on a v8. But v8s are figured out. I had to engineer my whole set up. That's my whole pint regardless, mike I will call you. Thanks

Same here my whole setup is custom. None of it was made factory for a nova. The block is different from the heads, cam, valves etc. nothing from factory came that way. Anyway I respect and applaud your efforts and look forward to the end result of your build. Power is power no matter what it comes from. And from a slant six makes it all the more impressive :D

Who said I had one?

That is really cool that you used a Pontiac engine. If I ever own a Chevy, I will look to other forms of power for it. Probably a Buick, Olds or Pontiac engine or Cadillac 472/500. The 350 is most boring power plant that I can think of. The only thing that I think hasn't been done with them....is probably showing how to build one underwater.

I like Mopar/Mopar drivetrain in a Mopar though. The engines make them unique as it is!

Have you ever seen a stock ZR-1 Corvette that can do this???

I haven't...

I am not familiar with what the ZR1 runs Bill.

11.4 in the quarter is what Motor Trend tested the ZR1 at. (same as the Viper)

Also, there's a Super Snake and a Super Cobra Jet, but no Super Cobra. And one would think you'd have a tough time stomping any of these.

I'm not debating the issue. I'm simply sayin I wanna SEE it. That's all. I'm sure it can be done. Some of out friends down under have some mean *** slants.

That's a long way from what this Valiant in the video runs...

Well, it's a long way to North Dakota, but that's where the 10.74 Valiant lives... how about a road trip?

Hey, it beats driving to Australia... LOL! If you can't be happy with the video, looks like you may have to travel to one of those...

Will Burns turbo Slant six-powered Barracuda just clicked off a 9.6-second quarter-mile run last week...

And when beat that corvette we were getting on the freeway and alls I know is I was 5 links ahead of him by the time I hit 3rd gear lol
