When to shift?

I'm at the point where I'm just going to take my time and be happy with a tenth at a time. I'm going to throw the Holley on it and drive it like I normally do. Next pass I'll shift the car. Next pass I'll mess with the timing.

I know better then to throw the new carb on the car and fuel pump and ignition at the same time.
