Dodge A 100 thread
Well, they have a lot going for them, thats for sure! BUT your right, the green circled one has the valve cover was swapped left for right....Thats a no-brainer.
The Other one, does have the odd valve cover bulge, which as you mentioned a "later" model, what '75 or so? Now granted, does it have to have that SAME valve cover from '75 plus, or can they both have the same "older" valve covers to make them "match" As in that pic denoting what we just did they aren't a matched pair of RB engines!
Now, to note something else I caught, look at the exhaust manifolds! Those look like LA type center dump types.....NOT, B/RB types! That would normally "dump" to the rear most area of the manifold.
They are Mopar "RB" engines, as the distributor on BOTH is in the "front" of each block.....
The question is, WHAT "RB" engine size could they be? They are Orange, which denotes the 440, BUT, who's to say they weren't 383's painted that way NOT stock before they were placed between the frame rails.... We know or think we know that the one with the raised center valve cover, is a 440 as that was the only RB to make it past '75? I thought I seen that the 413 did too, but....I question that as they really all look the same on the outside, its just there were a LOT more 440's made then say the 413 and all the other "RB" big blocks....
Needless to say both those motors pictures shoe-horned into a A-100 Van or Truck, is impressive! I just can't for the life of me figure out how the hell they did it, as there is not a lot of space to do such things in the A-100!
that pic had me stuck too ....they do look like RB engines ....im assuming 440.
the green circle shows the PCV in the wrong place so I think that valve cover is on the wrong side because that looks like a 1970 driver side valve cover. And the yellow circle, the way that valve cover has the bulge in the middle.....that is definitely a later style 1975+ valve cover.
