Help with Carb Issue!
Hi All. Last month I replaced my stock 340 intake with an Edelbrock Intake. I have a 650 Holley DP mounted on it (manual choke, new last year). During acceleration, the car would bog down. I went to a higher squirter (32) and it is still boggy, but not as bad. I may go to a 35. I wonder if this would resolve the issue? Also, last weekend, I went for a ride but didn't let the car warm up. Everytime I would come to a stop, it would die. It seemed to clear itself after a 1/2 hour driving. Since then, the car has had trouble starting. It won't stay running. Today I started the car and she was running pretty rough. It stalled and wouldn't start again. The fuel smell prompted me to pop the hood. There was gas sitting on the intake. I couldn't tell where it leaked from. I let the car sit for a while and tried starting it again. The engine would turn over but wouldn't catch. I pumped the accelerator a few times, but nothing and no fuel smell or leak. Thinking I ran out of gas now (because my fuel sending unit is shot), I put some in. I pumped the accelerator a few more times and tried starting the car. Again, nothing and no fuel smell or leak either (you think you would smell some fuel). The fuel filter appears fine. Could the problem be the ballast resistor, a float issue perhaps, dirt in the carb? I appreciate any help you can provide. I apologise if similar problems have been responded to in previous threads. Thank you!
