Getting the Intake on Intake Manifolds

Edelbrock #LD-4B

Can the LD-4B work well on the 340 or 360.

Absolutely, and {untouched} it is a better Intake on the 340 or 360 than the Edelbrock Performer #2176.

#LD-4B > Port Dimensions ............ 1.05" x 1.95"

With a little grinding {Gasket/Port Matching}, these units are an excellent performer on the Street with
a 340 or 360, especially in Low-End Torque and Mid-Range Horsepower.

* 340/360 Gasket Size ..... 1.16" x 2.27"
* 273/318 Gasket Size...... 1.05" x 2.07"

Note; Back-in-the-Day, we developed a 'tapered' Intake Manifold Gasket for Mopar, to provide for a
better {aligned} seal when using an #LD-4B with 340 Cylinder Heads so you wouldn't have to grind
out any material.

We still have the formed template plate, which is 1/16" {0.65"} in thickness.

Yes, that's good that this intake will run well on a 340, but it is actually made for a 273/318 with the 66 and later heads. When my oldest son bought his 71 Valiant with a 318, it came with dual exhaust, a Edelbrock Performer, and a Holley carb.

We removed the Performer intake and installed a LD4B and Edelbrock carb. It still had the stock 318 cam. It ran much better with the LD4B. No bog off the line and nice pull. The LD4B is a great intake for a 273/318 with stock internals and dual exhaust and even with a little bigger cam. This is my manifold of choice to run on a street 273/318.

I just wanted to make the point that this is a great intake for the 273/318, as you only mentioned that it "could run good on a 340" also. A 340/360 should get the LD340, and the 273/318 get the LD4B.
