Engine Removal - Why won't it slide out already.

Ok here's the proof! It's out!! Thanks guys. It was that dust shield all along. Seem like no damage anywhere. That's a good thing!

For anyone following this thread that has a small block Duster with a manual transmission and is having trouble separating their engine from bell housing, learn from my ignorance!

  1. Unbolt everything including headers from heads, motor mounts, bell housing bolts (there's one hidden behind the starter...that bastard!!), z-bar, etc
  2. Don't forget the duster cover and inspection shield from the bell housing.
  3. put a jack under the tranny because it will drop forward
  4. (violently) pull the engine forward and it should slide out.

I hope I didn't miss anything.

Once again, the guys from FABO were awesome! I was ready to burn this car to the ground, only to find out I was n idiot. I honestly didn't think that cover would hang me up.
