Anyone planning on Buying the Hellcat?

...hey, if ma chrysler says retail will be $ 59,900 USD (as advertised) then that is it will be. Do we have any reason not to believe ma chrysler ? Oh, in canada, it will be 7% higher (since our dollar is .93 at the moment).

If only it worked that way Grassy , it will be more than just the exchange rate higher here unfortunately , just heard about a couple on the island who got caught trying to sneak a new truck in from the states last week the difference makes it worth the trip , I expect more like 15% - 20% on the US price , just compare the SRT pricing here to the US and there is more like 10K difference on them so expect the same here .

I wish I could I guess I'm stuck with my '14 R/T and my old 'Cuda. But, I feel blessed with what I have. Oh and I'm sure dealers will be sticking mark ups on them for at least the first year.

I'd like a Hellcat Challenger, but its way out of my price range. plus i really dont like the dash layout of the 2015 challenger either. i feel blessed with what i have as well. a nice 2007 mustang GT, and my 67 cuda project. i feel what i have is the best of both worlds. for all the mustang haters out there oh well, its a great car, and for all the girl car comments, i am just getting in touch with my feminine side LOL.

cannucky..i was being sarcastic :) I figure the us dealers will apply a massive markup and the Canadian dealers (if they can get one) will gouge and screw even more..

sarcasm doesn't come through in type sometimes , I was referring to the BS way we pay more for cars built in Canada than American customers do even tho they need to be shipped cross border to their distribution centers then shipped to the dealers , the 2014 SRT is 51,890 with auto trans here in Canada and 40,485 US in the states , 11,405 is quite a bit more difference than the exchange rate , these are the Chrysler core prices not dealership pricing .

PS the sales manager at my local dealership just sent me an email this afternoon saying they can start taking orders but he didn't mention the price yet , I'll have to stop in and see him this weekend and find out what the damage is going to be here in Canada .

....apparently, the same engine is going in the Charger now as well.

What was the word on the couple who bought a new truck in the 'states ? The RV prices are so low compared to ours that we cannot afford to buy in Canada..and the American trailer (same brand, etc) has a better warranty if we buy south. After looking at our truck prices, I am starting to think south again..

The big joke for us was when Bombardier built a new quad..it was 4K less in Maine than in the Canadian town across the river... the Honda made in Ontario is as well...

I talked to the RV dealer and wa assured that they speak Canadian and are quite comfortable dealing with Canadian customs.

Getting back to the hellcat, I have to drop by the local Chrysler dealership this week so I shall ask about the hellcat.

Ian :)

The companies where supposed to be dropping cross border warranty coverage and the couple with the truck tried to scam the duty I think , It was a radio news story so I didn't get all the details just that they were busted bringing it back . I think it has to do with import fees and taxes but the damn Chally is built in Oshawa.I would be surprised if this Hellcat package doesn't appear in every vehicle it will fit in like the Viper trucks .

Ps you could get Ricky and Julian to drive it back across the river for ya eh !

I'm in the same boat. Can't even afford a used R/T. If I could the Mustang would be gone.

No plans at all of buying one. I'm perfectly happy with my 68. It may not have 707hp, but it is exactly what I wanted.

Nope, not a big fan ...the challenger should have been a Charger... and it missed the mark on so many aspects... I am not a "mopar only" person even though I own several....too many cool cars out there to enjoy to lock yourself into one company..

I thought what mr norm did to the challenger after it came out did a lot to fix the dissonance with the body lines but my pockets are not that deep......I think the price structure and available models was done better by Ford ..and the quality is there...mind you, I don't like the new mustang either...

I am starting to research my next RAM...and since I will be in a Chrysler dealership, I am curious to see how the hellcat will be (or not) sold locally...and for what price...

Inquiring minds want to know...

It is a shame that you live so far away from us...I thought about buying your Mustang for one of my kids...

No not me I cant afford all that stuff. My job use to be upper middle class now it low class.Big busniess andvthe Government laws are snuffing me out.

...the first sign of a sick economy...the disappearance of the middle class...

Surprise.

Was in to my local Chrysler shoppe today and asked about the Hellcat.

They are not sure if they get one but are expecting to sell it between 60 and 70K Canadian. Sounds like it is going to be cheaper here than the states...go figure..

..but the 2500/3500 w/diesel has me smitten..

Just spoke to the sales manager at Harris Dodge , they just ordered 1 built for the dealership , triple black 64k . I told him after I get back from Moparfest we will sit down and try to build mine , I let him know I want no comfort package at all , meaning no AC /Heater , no sound system etc..., no extra anything and if I have to build back up to a minimum order price I will option in high impact paint and a couple of performance goodies , He didn't say no can do but I know the damn GPS crap is wired into the management computer so I will be stuck with that until the warranty is over , I didn't tell him the performance goodies I will add will be upgrading to the 426 bottom end , I just need to find the option code for it eh LOL !

Cool man congrats. I am going to hold off for a few years. My 14 SRT8 only has 3k miles. I would lose my *** on it trading it in.
