Which one was quickest in 1972

318-Will-Run

OK,

* You say you have a #3300 lb. car.
* All 'stock' 318 {Long Block}
* Stock Exhaust Manifolds
* Automatic {A-904}
* Stock Converter
* 3.55 Gears
* Only Addition {4-Barrel Intake Manifold and Carburetor}

Does that sound about right..........

And you're running 15.00's.
I ran 15.9's at 84 mph with 2bbl and 2.94 gears. I have since added the 4bbl. I have not had it back to the strip since adding the 4bbl. It is definitely stronger. I have not yet installed the 3.55's. I'm saying I think I will get into the 14's with the addition of the 4bbl, 3.55's and getting the car to hook up so I can "mash" it out of the hole without wheel spin. When I ran the 15.9's, I was easing it out of the whole so I would not break the tire loose. I haven't weighed it, but it is a B-body with manual steering and manual brakes. It may be heavier than 3300 lbs. I will weigh it. I'm also saying if this car runs into the 14's, will this be a knock to the 340? A teen running the same numbers you posted, but without the much better heads, cam, and bigger bore?????
