complete 1971 340 from pan to carb

Cleaned up the area under the driver side head and found the build info on it

[FONT=&quot]P-Premium fuel only[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]3440- Day 3440 is Monday, December 28, 1970 assembly date[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]0653-Sequence engine built that day[/FONT][/FONT]

Although, the 344th day of 1970 was Thursday, December 10th according to my research...

It does not translate the build date info.

I would tend to believe that the build date is Dec 10th, as I question if they were working on Dec 28th. Usually the auto industry gets from Christmas Eve until after New Years off with union contracts....
