I am putting my dash back together on my 69 Dart. The car had an aftermarket radio stuffed in the dash when I bought it but I am mounting the original thumbwheel radio back to make it look like it is supposed to look and to accommodate the new dash bezels. I was wondering does the radio attach with the big screws going through the dash into the radio face or is there a case (or whatever it is called) like modern radios use to mount into the dash?

there is a small bracket that mounts on the back side that balances out the front mounting screws-- i might have an extra one ,Lawrence

This is it isn't it? If so shoot me an address and I will send it to you

radio mounts with the two big countersunk screws and this bracket to support the back and the bezel is non weight bearing and screws to the dash fascia

My radio appears to be missing that bracket. It definitely never came out of my car. If anyone has that bracket and the necessary screw, I would be happy to pay the fine for the part. Thanks for the insight.

Thanks Rani. Wasn't sure where it came from. I just know it was off the dart dash I had laying around that I finally pulled all pats I though were useful off of before scrapping the rest.

they should be the same for all a-bodies that are close in year. I swapped my standard 68 dart dash out for a dash out of a 68 cuda and the cuda dash had the same rear bracket. The front mounting on the cuda radio is totally different though......but that bracket in the back shouldn't be hard to find.
