Stamping Mystery
Hi Guys. I have a cable shift 727 in the shop for overhaul. After cleaning up the housing I discovered this Maltese Cross stamped into the extension housing flange where it is bolted to the main housing.
I have seen this many times on big block engine pads but never on a transmission.
Can anybody shed some light onto the meaning of this stamping? I didn't see it mentioned in Carl Monroe's Torqueflite Handbook.
