Edelbrock Alu heads ordered , just hope it's going to be enough

Jerry :banghead:. Please don't sell that car...

This is a sweet 70' 340 Dart with a solid rebuild, regulation bolt on's, a streetable cam, and 3.55 gears! It's been mid 13's @ 105 on street tires with little traction as he drives it to and from the track.

More power is always helpful in overcoming the lack of efficiency for track times and I hope you get there. The stock Eddies and 1.6 rockers will probably get you a extra 20/30 horsepower with your current setup. Will that be enough to post a 12sec slip. I don't know?

All I know is, I'd hate to see you get frustrated enough to let that car go.....There's so much potential in it as it sits.
Thanks Rick , but you know how I am , I want a super reliable , easy to drive car that gets decent gas mileage and gets down the track fast . Some say it can't be done , but I'm going to try . I raced an AMG Mercedes 4 door that turned an 11.6 , well if the AMG can turn 11's and I suppose get decent mileage so can I , at least that's what I'm going for .
The heads will have some mild porting and intake gasket matched so it should go better , plus next time the MT drag radials will have 20 lbs of air not 30 , will not run with a full tank , and I'll try to get some 100 octane gas so I can play with the timing get the most out of the motor . Compression is going to be over 10.5 with the new heads .
One good thing I discovered is the motor is running well , took the plugs out they have over 6000 miles on them and they were all a light tan colour so no burning oil , no water leaks and it's not running lean or rich . Can't wait to see what the pistons look like when the heads are pulled .
