Mostly it'd be pretty damn simple, .

You would never be able to shift such a thing. This would require a rather complicated shifter encroaching on something like "vertical gate."

If you build this HERE is what I'll guarantee

Some day, you WILL get rattled. Plus, you can't shift it very fast.

You'll pull a big 'ol impressive 1 - 2 shift, then........

shift into neutral,

and by mistake......

shove it right back into first.
