Carb should help a bunch. Get as much initial timing as it will stand and make sure it doesn't over advance. 280 is a pretty big cam for a fairly stock 383. Work that suspension or get slicks for the 60ft. Stock stuff can work if set properly. Did you see the Hemi Super Bee on red line bias ply?
