Man eats girlfriend's brain and heart.....

Now if more people put it that way than trying to use the fear of God as a motivator. :D
I understand the comment, but I am not one of those kind of people.

I think it is pretty arrogant and ego self serving to think ANYTHING was designed for us specifically as living beings.
I believe we exist through chemical and evolutionary accident, and when we die we are gone. (no afterlife, no "all your loved ones will be there waiting for you" and I believe all that is simply a security blanket)
I also believe there could have been other random biological "accidents" at other places in the multiverse. (Aliens if you will)
I think telling our kids there is some evil that will torture them throughout eternity if they don't do what other people say God says he wants them to do is about as evil as it gets.
Like some of the evil fairytales we tell really young kids.

Humpty Dumpty
When the bow breaks
The three little pigs
On and on, and not only evil but violent to boot.
Death and destruction for the 2 year old??? Oh boy.

Intelligent design?
Everything in existance was made just for us?
I don't believe that for a minute.
We just aren't as important as we would like to believe we are.

How about we weigh how many lives have been taken over religious differences and compare it with humans being whacked out crazy and killing someone? (or add all the other un natural causes of death rolled in there too.)
Religion IS and has been the number one cause of death on this planet from day one (whatever caused day one):D

Call me arrogant if you want. I once had a chemistry professor that hated religion more then anyone I ever meet. This man knows more about what it would take to create life then myself and more then likely everyone on this forum. His comparison for an accidental universe was a tornado going through a junkyard full of chevies and putting all the parts together to make a Ferrari.

Good luck in trying to understand things my friend. This is where my train stops.
