Grand Jury declines to charge Tony Stewart

jury made the right choice.

Yes, it's tragic what happened. But at the end of the day, that kid is solely responsible for his actions. If he hadn't run out on an active track, he wouldn't be dead. Could stewart have handled his car differently? Maybe. Would it have even mattered? Probably not. I don't think he meant to hit him, and everything after that is just "what's" and "if's". I'm not sure he took the right action to try and miss the kid, but i'm not a professional dirt track driver. And not taking the perfect action isn't a crime. I'm not sure he could have missed him regardless of what he did.

And if nascar would simply add a rule that if a driver's feet hit an active track for any reason other than to escape a crash- you're banned for life, this could be avoided in the future. There's no reason drivers need to be on an active track except to escape a crash, fire, etc, where staying in their car would be an imminent life hazard. The bs with guys running after cars, or pointing, or yelling, or throwing helmets (ie, tony stewart himself) needs to stop. Grow up. There's plenty of folks out there that would love to step up and take one of those rides. Maybe they wouldn't be as fast, or maybe they would be. Hell maybe they'd be faster. Regardless, if you banned a driver or two the bs would stop.
