Painted (vs. Vinyl) Roof Option

I have personally seen a 1969 & a 1970 Dart with a painted (from the factory) roof. The '69 was a B7 Blue roof over B5 Blue body. The '70 was ? Black roof over ? Orange body. Both of these cars have, what appears to be, the same chrome trim separating the roof/body just like a vinyl top car. How rare of an option is this? What other years was this available?
