Doug, not in the land of rust. I gather that the pan is well priced but the seal is expensive.

I am understanding that this is a chronic problem. I replaced our son's oil pan last year but it was far easier to get to...

I am guessing that it will be better to bight the bullet ?

I had in my mind that you could just clean all off and paint it with some sort of epoxy that binds itself to metal / rust...

It is the labour time that burns me..and the job is too big for me...
