Hey i have a 1972 plymouth duster im restoring id like to know where to get a headliner and dashpad for it for some reason i see all other headliners are cheap like 50-90$ but for a 72 duster its 220-290$ why is this does a 1971 plymouth duster headliner fit a 1972? if so i can just purchase the 1971 summit has for 60$

'70 - '71 should be the same, '72 went to cardboard.

Welcome to the site. Where abouts in Canada are you from? Let's see some pictures of the car.

'72 is the first year for the ''cardboard'' one piece head liners (which were actually some kind of cheap ''fiber board'' with thin vinyl glued onto them). The '72 a-bodies in general are kind of a mixture of '71 and '73 parts and accessories if that makes sense.
The ''cloth'' head liners are a lot cheaper to buy these days, but installation is a PITA unless you know exactly what you're doing and have done a few......
Just my 2 cents.

Welcome aboard, YoungDuster.
What type of headliner is in your car now? My '72 had the cardboard type.

im from southern ontario, im not sure what headliners in it i havent had a chance to check it out i just started with the power train and the exterior needs a front passenger fender as well ill post pics when i get off work, currently iv got new bucket seats since the transmission prior was upgraded to a floor shifter instead of a tree shifter, so the standard bench seats wont fit in it, i believe it was a manual trans before upgraded to the torquefly auto trans when the old manual burnt out so old owner put the console on the floor, also those headliners look good from classic industries, if summit has one that fits would be better do my whole order with them so if theres any issues i dont chase anyone but them. also anyone have an idea why my car "drives" with out my foot on the gas my buddy says its most likely the carb, but i have no idea how to adjust a carb or what to listen for if i got it right, if anyone coould explain cause my friend said its around 500-1000 to have an engine tuned. but shes a black and yellow H code 340. so i want to do it as best i can.

If you take the air cleaner off and post a picture of the carb, that would be helpful. Does the engine "ping" under hard acceleration? Do you have an RPM gauge? If so, what is it idling at? These are questions that might help diagnose what you have going on. Search both YouTube and the forum...watch some videos on-line on how to do this as a picture is worth a thousand words. Recommend you get a timing light and learn how to set the timing first. Once that is set, pretty easy once you identify the correct screws to turn based on your carb...if it's a Thermoquad the air/fuel mixture screws are the two in the front. A vacuum gauge is best, but you can set them by ear. Picture is a Thermoquad carb...you might have one similar. The air-fuel adjust are the two screws in the front on either side of vacuum ports and the idle adjust is on the far right (hopefully you just need to idle it down some). There are experts here who can walk you through much better than I, but doing some research on what you have, reading what's already been posted, then asking questions when you're stuck would be my recommendation. $1000 for a tuneup? Wow! I think you're smart to learn to do it yourself. Good luck!
