Any Spray paint tips

I was spraying Acrylic lacquer on a hood. Now the job I did isn't completely crap and with a buff will come up OK.

I would just like to able to spray that nice clear wet look straight from the gun. I had the paint mixed 1 part paint to 1 1/2 thinners as per the tin. I had the fan open spraying around 3 inches wide. I had about 30PSI at the guage on the gun. I thought maybe the paint was to thick or to much or little pressure.
