also depends on the temperature where you are spraying. As a general rule, lacquer does not lay down wet, you need to cut and buff it. Also, there are different thinners to use depending on the temperature (some evaporate faster than others). As was said, practice on an old panel... I would try thinning it down just a bit more and see how it sprays...
