2x4 barrel vs 1x4 barrel

Lets say we have an engine with a tunnel ram intake manifold and 2 tunnel ram tops. One with a provisions for 2x4 and one with just 1x4.

The carb for the 1x4 manifold flows the same as the total of the 2x4.

So what is going to be better for performance? I'm guessing for a street machine there wouldn't be a big difference in power (just easier to tune 1x4), but what say you?
