Ah just go ahead and take the jump like I did its been awhile trying to get mine sorted but the motors finally about to go in the car, I can't wait. Yes it's expensive but really nothing like that Hemi under the hood. I went the route of an original block, heads and crank which ended up costing more than building and all aluminum motor but still I think having a real date coded motor is worth it. Good luck.

the iron block will work fine. get one.

then get urself a 572 stroker kit for it. call these guys they can get you the rotating assembly or help you piece one together if you want to buy your own parts.

they want 13k for a complete 426 hemi but you could source some parts cheaper since you have that nice intake already.

also, for what it's worth... check these prices:

i have some *ahem* experience with the gen3 now i spent too much money over the weekend lol and i didnt even get a good drunk off it. but those prices are not bad. you would have to sell your gen2 intake to help fund it.

i can tell you this car kicks ***. when my duster is done however it will weight 1000lbs less and have about 100 more hp but for now it's rockin. i miss the little orange '13 dart that i traded away i wont deny that
