1968 Plymouth Barracuda '340-S' Fastback

* Shipping Weight ..... #3162 lbs.

The NHRA re-factored the 340/275 HP to {310 HP} Horsepower in December 1967, 1-Month before the 1968 NHRA Winternationals.

'Coletti Chrysler-Plymouth' out of Hillsboro, Oregon set the NHRA National Record.

While Joe {Father} prepped the Barracuda, Mark {17 year-old son} drove the E/SA Barracuda.

A person who does not get the credit for making their '1st' 340 run, was Factory Race-Engine Builder and Drag Racer ~ John Hagen.

So, are you say that my '69 FB Barracuda could easily run 12s with 310 HP?? It currently has a 318 but I have already installed a Heavy Duty 2004R (1800 stall) and 3:73 gears. I have most of the parts for the 390 stroker that I will build and install into the Barracuda. I was shooting for 350-375 HP. I'm not building a drag car, just a powerful torque monster for the street. If it only takes 310 HP in a Barracuda to hit the 12s then I should be able to do the same with my 390 stroker correct?? I'm asking because I didn't think that 12s would be achievable at all with the 390 motor (built mildly). Of course my car has factory air, P/S, P/B and still has an all steel body plus big 10 inch speakers and amps so I imagine that it weighs a little more than stock (3162 lbs). Again, I have no plans to take my car to the track, just want to build something for the street that would put some fear in the Camaros, Firebirds, Mustangs.
