On my original post I asked if the original WW width was 5/8" or 7/8" because I wanted it to look original. I'd seen some info both ways. The consensus was that it was probably 7/8". The actual WW width of the Maxxis tires is 3/4" -- they split the difference. Anyway, that's close enough.
The whitewall actually sticks out about 1/32". It is not recessed.
