Mopar oil filter

The major difference is that the performance filters internally have taller media and have more pleats in filter media. They also do away with the top by-pass valve and use a dome valve instead. That allows the media to be a little taller.
Not sure why the filter wont screw on, they go right on my 74 without issue. I'll have to look into that. Could be that your adapter is longer than mine.
