The 'Quickest' A-Body Small Blocks

I had the same late 68 build 69 Swinger. Auto 3.23 and no suregrip. I did swap the dist for a mallory dual point due to that auto's have a single point floater and I did richen up the primary a tad. I wiped the stock tires in no time and since I liked high speed road runs I shod the car with big G78 Goodyear radials for cornering ability. Lousy offline traction of course. My best with all the wheel spin in both first and second gear was 14.50 at 102 MPH. Even had a fotog taking pictures of my off the line struggles to not completely fry the right rear. I could not even get to full throttle until around 35 miles an hour and when I shifted to 2nd at around 65 MPH I had to back off the throttle to keep it from lighting up the right rear again. The most fun was chasing down Porsches on the coast highways. Never could top end the car. Got way too light in the front end at high speed. Speedo was a waste as I would peg it shortly after hitting high gear.
