Auto console converted to a 4 speed console?

Is it possible to cut the side out of a automatic console and make it into a 4 speed console. I have a 67 barracuda console im not using and wondered if it was possible? Has anyone heard of this being done or tried it? If so does anyone have a pic? Thanks for any ideas or help.
