Wheel opening mouldings
Repros are aluminum. Originals were aluminum 68-76
They originally were treated in a "Bright Dip" protective surface treatment. Like an anodizing but not technically anodizing. The Bright Dip actually makes the part little more shiny looking. 1968 Dart: grille, headlight bezel, hood molding, GT side molding, rocker molding spears, and trunk moldings are also Bright Dip aluminum. The repro parts that are offered are Bright Dip also.
67 was stainless wheel well molding.
I've heard that some early 68's had stainless. Have not seen original car to confirm. Do others have any concrete proof of stainless in early 68.
