Got the new carb on and was checking WOT.... and of course, it would open about 75%. Got to looking and found the pedal was dead against the floor, and the whole assembly was quite loose. Further inspection found only one nut was holding the pedals to the firewall. Pulled the pedal assy out of the car and cut the rod, stacked it and rewelded. I also ground on the underside to increase the pedal throw some more. Got the travel I need and will also trim some of the brake pedal to give more room for my big feet to get in there. Pretty tight especially with the trans tunnel being moved over even though by not much. Still contemplating as to welding a "pad" on the rod or not. Probably can't hurt.
