How hard can a 273,run? (street/strip)?

I was just wondering if the above D/Dart was street legal (since we are talking about street/strip)? I was cruising Main St. in Salinas, CA on Fridays nights in bumper to bumper traffic in my Valiant! It was flat towed to Fremont, CA for Wednesday night grudge racing and Sunday bracket races.

That I know of, this D/Dart was not driven on the street. It currently has 372 miles on the odo. However ..... the first D/Dart that I had bougth had 127,000 miles on it. It's the all white one that's gone across the BJ and Mecum stages quite a few times. The original owner of that car drove it over 75,000 miles on California freeways with the 4.86 gears in it. Those were changed for 3.23's at this point in it's life and used for the next 50,000 or so miles. Because of exhaust leaks, he had removed the Doug's headers and installed a factory HP exhaust system on the car. He stored the headers in his garage and they came with the car when I bought it. He also replaced his homemade crash box trans for one out of a 65 dart.

So, yes, D/Darts were street driven.

I know of others that have many street driven miles on them.
