Never raced
Get there early and study the layout of the track. Go to the shutdown area and check it out. How many turnouts? Which side? Are they well marked? What's at the very end? Fence? Sandtrap? Are there lights for night racing? If there is only one exit,its going to be about the same distance as the track is long. And that can take awhile if your putting along at 40. Ask another racer or a tech guy about protocol exiting the track. Usually one lane is given right of way if the two cars are anywhere near each other. Never make a U turn on the track. If you have a problem and need to stop on the return road,pull off the road so others can get by. Know where to pick up your timeslip. Pick up your slip and drive away! Others may be behind you.waiting and some may be getting hot. The cars that is. There is quite a bit more and every track has its peculiarities but always keep your eyes and ears open! The pits can be a hectic place! And have fun!
