"So I hit the pump" leads me to believe that you have an electric fuel pump - I assume you have a regulator, what is it set at? Electric fuel pumps can and will blow the needles off their seats at anything over 5 psi and dump fuel out the vents. You likely need to either lower your fuel pressure or have crap (dirt) stuck in the needle and seat assemblies.
